Bulb Planting Party November 1 and New Website

There will be a bulb planting party and service project held at the Holt Family Homestead with the surrounding neighborhood on November 1, 2025. Bulb planting will start at 10:00 am. Some bushes will be donated by Schmidt’s Nursery and people can bring their own bulbs, organic matter, soil, and other things to help plant bulbs around the Homestead.

Also, a new Holt family website is coming that will provide a new home for the Samuel E Holt Farmstead Foundation as well. This foundation is being headed by Denise Allen with a goal to improve and restore the Homestead and begin to have events and other activities. More information to come!

After 1 1/2 years, we will hold a Holt Family weenie roast on September 13, 2021!

Attached is the invitation to join with us in having a good time as we carefully gather together to enjoy each others company and a nice late summer’s evening picnic. Hope to see you all there!

NOTE: Because of COVID-19, we will NOT have a share table this year

PS: Come even if the weather isn’t perfect!

  • blanket, or chairs, or ever a small outdoor table to stake out their site at the gathering

Wood (to roast) will be provided.

It is time for the Fall Family Birthday Party at the Holt Family Farmstead out over the canal (as we used to refer to it when we were kids way back in the day). Attached is the invitation to join with us on September 9th in having a good time as we gather together to enjoy each others company and a nice late summer’s evening picnic. Hope to see you all there!

As before, there will be memorabilia items that can be purchased:

  • Of Dugouts and Spires: The History of South Jordan, Utah – $20
  • Historical Throw – $40
